Frontenac County (c1788 - c1849)

General: 

From 1788 - 1792, the area we now call Frontenac County was part of a large portion of eastern Ontario known as Mecklenburg District. Sometimes it is spelled Mecklenburgh.

From 1792 to 1849, the name of the area was Midland District.
