That teddy bear was given to me for my first birthday and I still have it. It didn't have a name, just Teddy.

Anna Sadura Healey and her teddy bear

Anna's father Jozef Sadura, born in Poland in 1917, was in the Polish air force as war broke out in 1939 (his unit is not known). In 1939-1940 he left Poland, eventually making his way to England, where he joined one of the first “Polish” squadrons of the RAF. He was in squadron 300 and flew with that squadron, it is thought, from 1940 until the end of the war. He is listed in the duty roster BH-Z (PD383) for the 1945 raid on Berchtesgaden as a navigator. He was awarded various medals, including Poland's highest military honour, the Virtuti Militari, although it is not known what he did to earn it.
