Meredith Westcott shows Sarah Balint a studio portrait of her grandfather in uniform during WWII and reads a letter he sent home from overseas in January 1942.
He served as a private in the Canadian Army Overseas with the Canadian Ordnance Reinforcement Unit (CORU) in England and in Europe. She describes how he was shot in the chest but saved by a Bible in his pocket.
